These names all refer to the same place, but it is mostly known by TC’s. An excellent place to enjoy a romantic yet casual dinner and indulge in the sweet sound of the piano played live, a classic jazz sound. Once inside, you will feel like you are taking a walk through a miniature version of the French sidewalk on a Sunday afternoon. It has an indoor Ku-Bu-Ku bookstore, a cyber corner, a barbershop, an art gallery and a boutique. TC is undoubtedly one of the many cafés in Kemang which continues to stay strong although many others have popped up in nearby area.
It is a two and a half storey house so if you go to the second floor, ask to be seated near the window looking out to the main dining area and you will feel like you are peeking out to the street from your French décor window apartment. A private and unique spot to dine. Attractive cartoonised paintings hung along the walls combined with the antique-shaped wall lamps make the interior look edgy and arty, providing an imaginative visual experience.
You will find mostly international cuisines here. For starters, a variety of salads and soups are available; like broccoli cream soup, Russian salad and perhaps you might like to try the fried calamari. The grilled tenderloin and the smoked salmon are on top of the list. But if you are tired of steaks and such, try some of TC’s chosen traditional menu like the Balinese mixed rice. What a different taste for the palate!
This restaurant is good for all meals and occasions. Despite my recommendations for having dinner at this eatery, you can also have your lunch, afternoon coffee or just spend the whole day here whiling time away with a friend and a conversational topic at hand. Time just flies by at this cozy and relaxing place.
